Catalyst Group Collaborates with Taylor Shaw to Design & Fit-Out First-Floor Tenancy in New Regent Building in Christchurch
Exciting news! Catalyst is thrilled to announce our collaboration with Taylor Shaw Barristers and Solicitors in Christchurch. We are excited to be designing and fitting out their first-floor tenancy in the new Regent Building located on a key commercial site at the western end of Cathedral Square. The building is currently under construction by Cooks Brothers Construction on behalf of the Carter Group.
The building site was originally the home of The Regent Theatre, which officially opened in August 1930 and operated as a cinema for 70 years. The site was purchased by the Carter Group in 1994. Following the February 2011 earthquakes, the cinema was closed, and the site is now being transformed into the Regent Building to house a number of long established Christchurch law firms, with retail and hospitality on the ground floor.
Catalyst has been working closely with Taylor Shaw to create a concept design that reflects their long history in Christchurch and incorporates a modern, vibrant working office. The design mixes old with new and offers wonderful views of the Cathedral, which is currently undergoing refurbishment. We are grateful to Ingrid Taylor and James Puller and more recently, Anna O’Callaghan and Gareth Abdinor, for their engagement in the design process.
Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project!
