Check out our recent and ongoing projects across a range of different sectors:

1. Ernesto’s
Ernesto's is a lively and welcoming venue that captures the spirit and charm of Old Cuba, blending it seamlessly with contemporary design touches. Our design team thoughtfully repurposed existing elements wherever possible, ensuring the space’s original character was preserved while adding a modern flair.

2. Austen & Blake
Austen & Blake, a boutique jeweler, has been enchanting customers across the UK, Ireland, and Australia. Expanding into New Zealand, they entrusted Catalyst as their Design and Build partner to streamline design, project management, and construction into a seamless process, perfectly aligning with their vision. The stores needed to reflect Austen & Blake’s signature aesthetic while incorporating locally sourced products and materials suited to the New Zealand market. With careful consideration of lead times and availability, our team worked to strike the perfect balance between international branding and local adaptation.

3. CityFitness
Catalyst standardised Cityfitness' gym design guides to streamline this process. This standardisation ensures continuity and consistency nationwide and delivering solutions at pace.
Our team provides sustainable solutions and adaptable designs, modifying the design often to suit unique warehouse or industrial build shells, providing innovative solutions which often push the building envelop to enhance the entry and create a visual presence in the architecture.

Ernesto's
Ernesto's, a vibrant Cuban bar and restaurant, is the latest addition to hit Wellington's hospitality scene, nestled in the historic Post Office Square. Catalyst was thrilled to be chosen as the designers of this space which draws inspiration from Old Cuba but with a modern twist, radiating warmth and energy from the inside out. The Spanish colonial style is referenced in the design of the bar with custom graphics and bright colors infused in unexpected places.

Sudima Hotel
Catalyst was initially engaged by Sudima to assess the acoustics of the bedrooms in a hotel. However, after going above and beyond, they were presented with a comprehensive new scope that included a reception and admin block, a 90-bed wing, and the refurbishment of two older wings to bring them up to a modern standard in 2014. Catalyst worked closely with the client to source both international and locally supplied furniture, fixtures, and equipment. The hotel, which was originally constructed in the late 1960s, had undergone prior additions. However, the main buildings and front of the house lacked the corporate appeal that the hotel chain desired for its guests.
