Alphero

A key objective for Alphero was to retain and repurpose a number of existing furniture pieces that held significant sentimental value to the team. Rather than adopting a completely new fitout, the design integrated these familiar elements into the new workplace, preserving connections to the company's history and culture while supporting sustainability through the reuse of quality furniture and materials. This approach helped create a space that felt authentic to Alphero from day one, blending the old with the new in a meaningful way. The character of the building made this feel entirely natural, heritage and contemporary sit comfortably together at 50 Customhouse Quay.

With base-build and fitout works progressing simultaneously, the project required a highly coordinated approach. The project required careful consideration of the building's heritage elements, unique floorplate, and existing services infrastructure, ensuring the design complemented the space while meeting the technology requirements of a modern digital business. Close collaboration between all parties was critical to ensure design alignment, programme certainty, and seamless integration between landlord and tenant requirements.

Working alongside Cheops Holdings and McKee Fehl, Catalyst coordinated design and construction activities to ensure the fitout integrated seamlessly with ongoing base-build upgrades and building services improvements.Through the integrated Design & Build model, Catalyst streamlined decision-making, proactively managed project risks, and maintained design intent throughout construction. Early engagement with all partners enabled efficient coordination, reduced programme risk, and ensured alignment between the building owner's objectives and Alphero's workplace vision.

This project demonstrates the value of collaborative delivery, adaptive reuse, and early stakeholder engagement, bringing together landlord, tenant, consultants, and contractors to achieve a successful outcome. The new workplace reflects Alphero's innovative and people-focused culture, creating a flexible environment that supports collaboration, creativity, and connection. The result is a high-quality workplace that respects the heritage significance of 50 Customhouse Quay, honours Alphero's history through the retention of valued furniture and workplace elements, and provides a modern, future-focused environment that supports the company's ongoing growth and success.
