Project Information
Creative New Zealand is the national arts development agency of Aotearoa New Zealand, promoting and supporting the arts.
When they relocated to a new building on Allen Street in Wellington, they wanted their identity as a "true kiwi" business enabler to be reflected in the fit-out.
Catalyst was tasked with creating a unique design that complemented the Edwardian character of the building and showcased Creative NZ's portfolio of New Zealand artwork as a live art gallery.
The design also incorporated a marae representation called 'Whaia ko Tawhaki', which was given pride of place and respect.
In addition to the art gallery, Catalyst created a large, multipurpose collaborative space adjacent to meeting rooms and a kitchen. Flexible furniture was included to allow for a variety of uses, such as hosting team members and guests from all over New Zealand for hui, as well as for celebrations and events.
As a turnkey project, Catalyst took complete care of all design needs to ensure the project was completed on time and within budget.
The Creative NZ team was thrilled to move into their new space, and the collaboration between all parties involved was fantastic, resulting in a successful project delivery.
