Catalyst was engaged by Murphy Properties to design new office buildings for the Ministry of Social Development and Oranga Tamariki in Te Awamutu.
The design included two interconnected single-story buildings with shared amenities and separate entrances, as well as a basement car park.
To ensure accessibility, both entrances were strategically placed at ground level with no need for a ramp, and the internal floors were level. The sloping site was used to create a partially excavated basement. Sun louvres were installed at the front and rear of the building to provide shade while allowing light to pass through the large windows.
Catalyst provided architecture, design, and project management services for the 18162m site, and both the client and tenants are thrilled with their new workspaces.
