We really enjoyed working with Catalyst across this project. From our first meeting where we out lined our ideas through to the design and final fit out, they were great with suggestions and very easy to communicate with. The end result is a terrific place to work and socialise for staff and with our clients. Our team could not be happier.

Project Information
The Brief
The primary objective was to create a unified workplace that brought teams together on one floor while maintaining flexibility and functionality across departments. The design needed to support a modern, open-plan working style while also incorporating spaces for collaboration, client engagement, and team connection.
Key elements of the brief included:
- Consolidation from two floors into a single, efficient workplace
- Creation of a central kitchen hub to act as a social and connection point
- A welcoming client lounge to support meetings and client interaction
- Open-plan desking to promote collaboration and visibility
- Improved spatial efficiency while maintaining comfort and functionality
Design Approach
Our design approach focused on creating a connected, people-centric environment that balanced functionality with user experience. The consolidation of staff onto a single floor presented an opportunity to rethink how teams interacted and how shared spaces could support both focused work and collaboration.
The design is underpinned by a strong, contemporary aesthetic, expressed through a refined and textural material palette. Polished concrete floors, exposed ceilings, and textured wall finishes create a layered, authentic environment, while tinted glazing introduces depth and subtle separation without compromising visual openness. Together, these elements establish a striking yet balanced workplace that feels both modern and highly functional.
At the heart of the workplace sits a central kitchen hub, designed as a vibrant social anchor that encourages informal interaction and team connection. Positioned to maximise accessibility, the hub plays a key role in strengthening workplace culture and supporting staff wellbeing.
A dedicated client lounge was designed to provide a professional yet welcoming environment for visitors. This space offers a refined setting for meetings while maintaining a strong connection to the overall workplace identity.
Open-plan desking was carefully arranged to optimise workflow and team connectivity, while maintaining clear circulation paths and visual openness across the floor.
Delivery
As a design-and-build project, Catalyst managed the delivery from concept through to completion, ensuring alignment between design intent, programme, and budget.
Early planning and collaboration with stakeholders enabled a smooth consolidation process, allowing NTT DATA to transition from two floors into their new unified workplace efficiently and with minimal disruption to daily operations.
The project required careful coordination within an occupied building, with particular attention given to logistics, timing, and communication to ensure seamless delivery.
Outcome
The completed workplace successfully brought NTT DATA’s teams together into a single, cohesive environment that supports collaboration, efficiency, and client engagement.
The new space provides:
- A centralised kitchen hub that fosters connection and social interaction
- A professional client lounge that enhances the visitor experience
- Efficient open-plan desking that supports collaboration and flexibility
- A modern, visually striking workplace defined by polished concrete, exposed services, textured finishes, and tinted glazing
The result is a modern, functional workplace that supports NTT DATA’s operational needs while strengthening team connection and enhancing the overall workplace experience.
