Project Information
Catalyst was tasked with creating the best office in Auckland with a homely feel. We helped make key decisions, including choosing the building to relocate to, and produced high-level concept designs for all three options.
The Australis Nathan, located in the sought-after area of Britomart, was the clear favorite.
To achieve the desired homely feel, Catalyst teamed up with Julian Guthrie, a respected New Zealand residential architect. Julian had previously designed a spacious family home for Warren of Hobson Wealth and brought a similar vision to the project. Catalyst was responsible for project management and the build, ensuring the team stayed on track to reach milestones and adhere to the budget. They also value-engineered aspects of the design during the process.
The resulting fit-out, completed within budget, has instilled confidence in the Hobson Wealth team and earned respect from both financial and architectural industries.
The space features prominent red brick walls and timber flooring, with black aluminum suites providing a reserved masculinity. Cream curtains soften the space, and beautiful timber and tin finishes are featured upstairs.
The contrasting marriage of traditional and modern perspectives speaks to both key markets for Hobson Wealth, providing a unique and elegant space. The balcony offers uninterrupted views of Britomart and the Waitemata across to Rangitoto.
Art pieces, including silhouettes and mint 'moments,' are scattered throughout the space to tie in more feminine aspects. It's not difficult to argue that this may be the best office in Auckland.
