Design & Planning
Catalyst provided end-to-end workplace services, beginning with detailed space planning to optimise the floorplate and support a range of work styles. The layout balances open-plan collaboration areas with quiet rooms, meeting spaces, and breakout zones, ensuring the workplace functions effectively for both focused and team-based work.
Natural colours and textures were incorporated throughout the design, drawing inspiration from New Zealand’s landscapes and reinforcing a strong sense of place within the workplace.
Furniture & Workplace Solutions
Catalyst managed the review, selection, and procurement of furniture, working primarily with Suncorp’s existing workstations and seating in line with Australasian workplace standards. Key new pieces were introduced in the kitchen and shared spaces to complement the retained furniture, creating a cohesive design and delivering a completely refreshed look and feel across the office.
Construction & Technology Integration
Working under a design and build delivery model, Catalyst delivered the full fit-out, including:
- Flexible open-plan workspaces with hot-desking arrangements
- Enhanced acoustic treatments throughout the office
- New carpet, wall finishes, and a purpose-built kitchen
- Integrated workplace technology to support hybrid and future ways of working
The project successfully accommodated evolving technology enhancements during construction, without compromising programme or quality.
Relocation & Occupation
In addition to design and construction, Catalyst managed the full relocation scope, coordinating the move from Suncorp’s existing space into the new office. This ensured a seamless transition for staff, minimising disruption to day-to-day operations and enabling immediate occupation upon completion.
Outcome
The project was completed on programme, delivering a flexible, technology-enabled workplace that reflects Suncorp’s wider Australasian office environments while responding to the specific needs of the Wellington team. Through integrated space planning, furniture procurement, fit-out delivery, and relocation management, Catalyst provided a turnkey solution resulting in a high-performing and future-ready workplace.
