Welcome to the prestigious Victoria Gardens complex on Victoria Avenue in Remuera, where Catalyst's client embarked on a transformative journey to bring her vision to life. With a longing for a light and bright Hampton-esque sanctuary, our client sought to create a neutral oasis within her newly acquired apartment. Situated on the renowned Remuera Ridge, known as 'The Golden Mile,' this project aimed to downsize the client's living space while preserving the elegance and grandeur of her former Parnell home.
The goal for Catalyst was to create a neutral, light-colored oasis that offered ample storage, a generous entertainment area, a display for collectibles, a secluded office space, a separate zone for the client's partner, and a serene reading nook.
Drawing inspiration from the timeless Hampton style, the design concept centered on a carefully selected neutral palette. Catalyst strived to seamlessly transition the client from her grand residence to the new apartment, ensuring a sense of continuity and familiarity. The ultimate goal was to enhance the apartment's existing abundance of natural light, positioning it as a central feature throughout the design.
To enhance the open-plan layout, Catalyst opened up the kitchen and raised the ceiling, creating a more spacious atmosphere. The incorporation of a panelled detail to the ceiling, along with modern kitchen appliances and hidden fridge details, adds charm and functionality. The hardware featured a delightful Hamptons-inspired chevron floor pattern, while the living area showcased herringbone carpeting with a white lush carpet elsewhere, bordered by a light oak finish.
There’s a striking powder room, serving as a focal point. Adorned with a jungle-inspired wallpaper, a backlit corian stone with brass hardware, and rich, deep green walls, it exudes an aura of opulence. In the guest bathroom, a clean and crisp aesthetic was achieved with an old-world anaglypta wallpaper and a unique brass basin.
The result was a remarkable Hampton-inspired haven that fulfilled the client's desire for a light, bright, and elegant retreat. Catalyst successfully transformed the space into a place of tranquillity and luxury, exceeding the client's expectations and leaving a lasting impression on all who experienced the remarkable design.
