A 5,000m² purpose-built workplace uniting three existing offices into one central location. Rooted in Māori heritage and guided by sustainable, innovative design principles, the building stands as a forward-looking landmark for the Dunedin community.

Catalyst delivered a successful design build solution for Wellington AOG accommodation, a 5 Star Green Star project design.  Using natural materials along with earthy hues, the project perfectly reflects the clients want to create a special and emotionally resonant workspace in the heart of Wellingtons city centre.

Our designers led an interactive design process, tailoring the workspace to meet unique business needs. Their use of 3D modeling engaged staff in the transformation of their existing space, while in-house project management ensured effective communication and oversight throughout this large-scale project.

This project provided unique and exciting challenges and the result is one that both Catalyst and The Department of Internal Affairs are proud of.

This project, a collaboration between Catalyst and two other firms was awarded 'Best Government Project' by the 'Project Management Institute' in 2019. It was also a finalist for the NZIOB 'Collaboration Award' in the same year.

Catalyst teamed up with Department of Corrections to refurbish their national office in Wellington, providing comprehensive design services for the 14-floor building across 12,500m2.

Creative New Zealand is the national arts development agency of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Catalyst was engaged by Waka Kotahi to refit their offices located in the Aon Tower in downtown Auckland. The priority was to create a seamless transition between the old tenancy and the new tenancy on the same floor, while also meeting the client's requirements for quieter spaces and collaboration areas. 

The concept behind this project is centered around the journey of a diverse group of Pacific Island peoples coming together and incorporating their unique values from the islands into the landscape of Aotearoa New Zealand.
